Nat Gas Now: Clean Energy From Coast to Coast

Nat Gas Now: Clean Energy From Coast to Coast
Wednesday, Dec 15

From California to Colorado to North Carolina, abundant American natural gas is changing our nation's energy future.  We all know that natural gas is great for cooking and can power a clean city bus.  But community after community across the country also is making the choice to embrace cleaner electric power generation through natural gas--powering our televisions, iPhones and all manner of devices that connect to those electrical outlets in our homes and businesses.

In California, natural gas provides nearly half the state's power, and in Colorado and North Carolina, coal plants are being replaced with natural gas, cutting in  half the amount of carbon emissions and transitioning to virtually emission-free energy for other major categories of air pollutants.  Tennessee is increasing its workforce by building a clean-burning natural gas power plant.  And, communities across the country are embracing this change-much of it chronicled right here on our ANGA blog.  In fact, a recent study by the Energy Information Administration found that natural gas is emerging as the overwhelming choice of fuel here in the U.S.  EIA is estimating that natural gas plants will account for 46 percent of all new power plant additions through 2035 as compared with 12 percent for coal-fired plants.

In this edition of our online video series, we travel around the country to see where natural gas is advancing cleaner energy.  What does it mean for your community?  Let your local leaders know: "It's time for nat gas now."
