Natural gas development is growing in South Texas and small cities, from the Rio Grande through Central Texas, are experiencing economic opportunities they otherwise would never have imagined.  In fact, just this month, the inaugural Eagle Ford Consortium conference took place in San Antonio, where more than 750 stakeholders discussed workforce, economic and infrastructure development issues that greater natural gas production brings.

One of the recurring themes throughout the conference was the extraordinary economic growth communities throughout South Texas are experiencing thanks to natural gas. According to an economic impact study by the University of Texas at San Antonio, development of the Eagle Ford Shale is projected to bring more than $21.5 billion in total economic output to the area by 2020, including approximately 68,000 full-time jobs.

Development of the U.S. shale plays, like the Eagle Ford, is revitalizing local economies and powering growth that is allowing communities to thrive once again. Don't take our word for it - see for yourself what local business owners, community development leaders and the Mayor of Laredo are saying about this tremendous opportunity.
