You make it sound like the natural gas industry is doing such great environmental work in Colorado. Maybe... but the industry track record in Pennsylvania is not so great. Why is natural gas from drilling ending up in drinking waters supplies? http://www.propublica.org/article/science-says-methane-in-pa.-water-is-from-drilling-not-natural-causes

If natural gas is getting into ground water drinking supplies, then indutry methods aren't very good, are they? Can fracturing fluids be far behind the motion of the natural gas into groundwater?

Here is the final question that becomes really significant considering the events in Pennsylvania: Why is the industry so afraid that we will find out what is in fracturing fluid?

Jeff - we are in fact disclosing the contents of hydraulic fracturing fluid. Just check out www.fracfocus.org for well-by-well information on both private and public lands.

    Sir or Madam,

If nature gas and all its features advantages and benefits are so great, why aren't municipal, provincial, state and federal governments lining up to benefit? What are the disadvantages that outweigh the advantages? Please reply in language that most average people will understand.

Hi Earle - Actually, more and more state and local governments are turning to natural gas. From transitioning to natural gas-fired power generation to adding natural gas vehicles to their fleets, they are finding that natural gas provides an opportunity to save money at the pump, create jobs and utilize a domestic energy resource.
